Aims
The Heart of Midlothian Shareholders' Association exists to advance the interests of Heart of Midlothian FC, to express and represent the views of the shareholders of Heart of Midlothian FC plc, and to provide a social forum for Association members and their guests. News Our Next Event : Our next meeting will be on Thursday 21st April 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Gorgie Suite, when we will welcome our Player of the Year Marian Kello, together with our two sponsored players Andy Driver and Kevin Kyle, along with Rudi Skacel. The cost of the meal is £15.00 for members and £17.00 for guests. The deadline for requesting a place is Saturday 16th March 2011. The meeting will commence at 7:00 pm with the usual format of a 2-course meal followed by tea/coffee. The bar will be open from 6:15 pm. Details of this and future meetings will appear here. Player of the Year The Members of the Association have voted
goalkeeper Marian Kello as our
Player of the Year. Marian won by quite a margin and was followed by
David Templeton and Marius Zaliukas in second and third places.
Congratulations to Marian who will be presented with his trophy at our
Player of the Year Dinner on 21st April. Erskine In a presentation at their Home at Gilmerton,
The Association donated £500 to Erskine Homes. Erskine are, of
course, Hearts chosen charity. Accepting the cheque, John Fyfe said he
was delighted with the continuing support from the Association. The
money will go towards the development of a Reminiscence Room at
Gilmerton. This room will be filled with artefacts to bring back
memories of the resident,s earlier years to stimulate memories and
conversation. In that regard Erskine would be delighted to accept
donations from our members of old(but usable) furniture, china, radios,
or old 78’s or anything else you may think is of interest. Please
contact the Chairman if you think you think you can help. Raffles The Raffles for the Superdraw as well as the jerseys of our sponsored players and the poppy jersey of Calum Elliott will be drawn at the Player of the Year Dinner. These are fantastic prizes to win. Superdraw tickets cost only £5 and the winners will enjoy a corporate day in the Gorgie Suite for an SPL match and the jersey tickets cost £2. A fantastic £520 was raised from raffles at our March Dinner. [April 2011] Annual General
Meeting A report on the
2011 Annual General Meeting can be found by clicking on the Annual
General Meeting button on the left, or following this link here. [Feb 2011] Raffles An excellent £320 was raised from our raffles at the October Dinner. Members are reminded of the special raffle we are currently running, alongside our monthly raffle, with a prize of two seats in the Directors Box for a SPL match. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch the match and enjoy the refreshments in the Board Room. Tickets are only £2 and the raffle will be drawn at our AGM in January. We are always
pleased to receive
donations of prizes for our raffles and grateful thanks to those
members who regularly donate prizes. [Nov 2010] New Members The Association is
always keen to
welcome new members. Recently about sixty people purchased shares
from Hearts Trust and several have already joined the Association. If
you know of any shareholder who wishes to join the Association
please let the Committee know. [Nov 2010] HMSA Ties The Committee is
considering ordering a
new batch of HMSA ties and would be interested in hearing from
members, in particular new members, if there is sufficient demand
before going ahead. [Oct 2010] Chairman : Alex Gowans announced that he will stand down as Chairman of the Committee with effect from 1st May 2010. He is also standing down from the Committee . The Committee and members of the Association would like to thank Alex for his work over the last four years and wish him well for the future. [June 2010] Remembrance Sunday service at Tynecastle. ![]() Association Chairman Alex Gowans laid a wreath at the Remembrance Sunday service held this year at Tynecastle. At the last Association dinner a donation of £700 to the Erskine hospitals was agreed by members. Association donates £2,500 to the Education and Community Trust. Friday 22nd May 2009:
Race Night at the Prison Officers’ Club, Longstone Road, Edinburgh. The
third race night went well after a slow start to ticket sales. As
the night started we had over 100 people in attendance; after all bills
were paid we made a tidy sum of £1100 - not bad with the credit
crunch being on. On behalf of the committee I would like to thank the
race sponsors (CFS Cleaning Services, JMcNeill Contracts, City Glass,
Tunnocks, and from our committee Alex Gowans , Bob Weir & Graham
Shaw).
HMSA Representation on Supporters' Group : The office bearers of the Association maintain a regular contact with Heart of Midlothian FC, and the Association also actively interacts with other groups that share our ambitions for Hearts. We have one representative on the Hearts Youth Development Committee, one on the Fans' Forum, one on the Hearts Supporters' Trust and two attend the G10 Supporters' Group where representatives of the club meet with the four supporters' groups (the Shareholders' Association, the Fans' Forum, the Supporters' Trust and the Federation of Hearts Supporters' Clubs). The minutes of the latest G10 meeting are here. Offer for Shares : The various announcements and updates made during the time of the offer for shares from UBIG / Mr Romanov are available here. Any Suggestions? : We are anxious to receive any feedback (good, bad or indifferent) from the Association membership. We now have a suggestions / guest questions box available at our monthly dinners, or you can e-mail suggestions to the commttee using this link: suggestions@hmsa.org.uk. We welcome comments on any aspect of the activities of the Association, so don't be shy : give us your views on what we do, what we could do, and maybe even what we shouldn't do... |
